MOGADISHU, Somalia – Several mortars fell early in the morning in the neighborhoods of Mogadishu causing damage including death and injury.
Most of the mortars fell in the neighborhoods around the presidential pala of Somalia, and it was said that one of the mortars struck a civilian house of civilians in the Sheikh Yusuf Alkawnayn area, and killed the mother of the family.
A woman who lives in the area where the mortar killed the deceased mother and spoke to the local media said that the mortar fell into the room where the deceased mother lived and dismembered her body.
“This morning, when it was morning prayer, we found out that while we were lying there was a big explosion that was heard everywhere. A mortar hit a family in a quiet place. The houses collapsed and the people who were there ran away,” she said
These mortars that were hit early this morning in the vicinity of the Somali presidency are coming, as the security situation in Mogadishu has been good in the past, and these types of mortars have been used to hit Mogadishu by the Al-Shabaab group.
