LAS ANOD, Somalia [SMN] – Garad Jama Garad Ali, a member of the SSC-Khatuma executive board, accused the federal government of Somalia of not being ready to clarify its position on the plight of the people of SSC.

He said that the federal government is acting as a mediator between both sides [Somaliland and SSC] and apologizes to both parties and also did not say who is at fault.

“We have the government of Somalia that is close to justice. We are saying that if we are wrong, let the government say that we are happy to separate, and you are wrong to move out of Lasanod or join Somaliland. If Somaliland is wrong, let them tell these people and regions to leave their land,” said Jama.

The elder said that the current behavior of the Somali Government is further exacerbating the situation, and everyone thinks that they are right.

He said that there is no need for the federal government to apologize to Somaliland for its rights. He pointed out that there are no territories and regions that they are disputing, but whose territory is being invaded by them.
