Man wanted for burning his pregnant wife arrested in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia – A planned operation carried out jointly by the police, security, and local clan militia arrested Sayid Ali Moalim Da’ud, who was wanted for burning his pregnant wife in Mogadishu.

 

The operation took place in the Adeiley area where he was hiding for days after fleeing from Mogadishu, where he burned his wife Luul Sheikh Abdicasis last month.

The combined forces also arrested two other men who helped the accused to escape in a boat in the Gawaan area of ​​the Mudug region.

“Today, 05 Feb 2024, the accused Sayid-Ali Macalin Da’ud and two accused who helped him escape from justice were arrested. These accused are Ingris Fanachey and Abdirisaq Macalin Daoud Aluke,” said a statement from out of the Somali Police Command.

The statement issued by the Somali Police also mentioned that the people who were involved in the arrest of the suspect would be specially rewarded with the promised reward.

The arrest has already been widely welcomed by the Somali people who are greatly angered by the shocking act of this man who burned his pregnant wife in her house.
