Somali army continues anti-al Shabab Ops in Jubland for 3rd day

KISMAYO, Somalia – The Somali army with the support of Jubaland regional troops carry out an Operation for the third day in a row in the Lower Jubba region.

 

The joint forces killed 35 members of Al-Shabaab in the areas of Musa Haji, Malaylay, Turdho, Bahar Saaf, and other areas where Al-Shabaab was manning key bases.

A statement issued by the Federal Government of Somalia said that the members killed in the operation included Somali and foreign leaders and other militias.

“The army entered the enemy’s hiding places in those areas and killed 35 leaders and militias, including Somalis and foreigners,” said the statement issued by the Federal Government of Somalia.

Some of the leaders who were killed were named Saadiq, who is the head of Al-Shabaab intelligence, the leader of the explosions in charge of the group, whose name was Abdiqani, and another leader whose position was not announced, whose name was Jabir, who was born in Kenya.

The forces of the Somali government and the Jubbaland administration have been carrying out heavy operations in the Lower Jubba region for the last few days to free the Al-Shabaab group from the areas where the group is located.
