BARAWE – The Commander of the Somali National Army, Major General Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud, has visited the Somali Navy and Coast Guard base in Barawe, Lower Shabelle region, as part of efforts to assess security operations and strengthen military readiness.
During the visit, the Commander addressed Navy and Coast Guard personnel, received briefings from officers and commended their efforts to protect Somalia’s coastline, safeguard the public and maintain national security.
He also visited the local police station and several public service facilities, including the town’s hospital, the regional administration headquarters and Barawe’s main market.
The visit forms part of the Somali National Armed Forces Command’s ongoing efforts to monitor security conditions across the country, strengthen military operations and enhance cooperation between security forces and local communities.
