Beijing – The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdifatah Kasim Mohamud, attended a reception in Beijing welcoming heads of delegations and participants arriving for the World Media Summit.
During the event, Minister Abdifatah held brief meetings with Fu Hua, President of China’s Xinhua News Agency, and Andrey Kondrashov, Director General of Russia’s TASS News Agency.
The summit, which officially opens tomorrow, will focus on developments in modern technology, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), and the opportunities and challenges these advances present for the global media industry.
The Somali minister is scheduled to address the summit, discussing the state of global media, its emerging opportunities and challenges, as well as the current state of Somalia’s media sector and ongoing efforts to advance its development.
The minister is accompanied by the directors of Somali National Television (SNTV), the Somali National News Agency (SONNA), and the Ministry’s Media Strategy Department.
